Yahweh Health Clinic (YHC) was started in November 2014 by Dr. Kathryn Boyd and Advanced Practice
Nurse Kara Palfy. These practitioners decided to start a medical based non-profit to better serve the
disadvantaged in communities where they lived. YHC has a mission to enhance quality of life and ignite
transformation for people living in Colorado. We do this by providing basic health care needs and referral
resources, as well as mental and spiritual health support services. This is achieved by hosting community
medical outreaches to populations that are on the verge of becoming unhoused or are currently unhoused. We
host outreaches in conjunction with multiple food banks, community navigators, and community events.
We have provided medical care and supplies to hundreds of people at stressful times in their lives. YHC has
supported individuals with many needs. Some examples include: providing medical equipment to help someone
re-gain their independence, supplementing food given at a food bank to ensure children do not have to skip a
meal, providing wound care to a patient who has never sought out treatment due to embarrassment and fear of
cost, and covering the cost of medications for a child who’s family could not afford them. In the past year we
partnered with the University of Colorado Street Medicine student group to increase our impact. The
partnership has resulted in more medical provider volunteers and the ability to host multiple medical outreaches
each month. This expansion comes with the need for increased funding to support our ability to impact the lives
of the unhoused in Denver Metro communities.
